I grew up in the Tokushima Prefecture in Japan which is a special river water district. This quality water has led to the area being famous for paper making. For this work I handmade Washi (Japanese paper) using traditional technique and multiple screens to create textured paper sheets. The fibre - edged hand torn strips were layered to create the shape of tree trunk rings. This work “Circular Sequence; paper” is one of my Circular Sequence adaptions linking my traditional Japanese culture with memory of the natural environment.
